Holidays for NHS Heroes - free holidays and short breaks for NHS staff.
After Grenfell, we were able to offer hundreds of firefighters free short breaks and holidays to help them recover from their traumatic experiences. Now we're looking at doing the same for NHS workers. Every day we hear more and more stories of their incredible acts of kindness and bravery, often at the expense of their own health and time with their own families.
The tourism industry is massively suffering right now, with lost income and bookings. But we're hopeful we'll bounce back, and that we'll be able to offer visitors wonderful times together in beautiful places once again.
We're now gathering details from anyone in the tourism industry who would like to pledge to offer a free* short break or holiday to NHS staff once the Coronavirus crisis is over. NHS staff will be verified through appropriate channels.
We understand that many tourism businesses are struggling financially so at this stage you are not finally committing yourself to any arrangement. We understand that circumstances can change. You will also be able to set appropriate conditions for length and time of stay etc. Attractions and other activity providers are also very welcome to participate.
Please use the form below to indicate your interest. Your contact details will not be passed on to anyone else.
Once the Coronavirus is over we will work with NHS organisations and charities to organise the holidays and short breaks. At that stage you will once again be asked if you still want to make your free offer, what conditions you would like to attach to the offer, and if you are happy for your details to be passed on.
* sorry, no discounts, just free for simplicity and to avoid this being a sales promotion.
I am also doing a separate promotion to encourage the public to buy a voucher from a tourism business and to give it to someone they know who works in the NHS as a thank you. More on this later.
Thank you!
