One easy thing you might have forgotten to do

One easy thing you might have forgotten to do…

I get a LOT of emails from tourism businesses. Many small businesses use gmail, hotmail and other email addresses instead of using their domain name (e.g. susan@tourismnetwork.co.uk).

While there’s nothing wrong with doing this, it could be having a small impact on your business. It’s not always obvious which business you’re writing from because the email address doesn’t mention the business name. Quite a lot of non-domain name email addresses get sent to spam. Some people are less trusting of them.

Whether you want to change your email address or not, there’s one quick easy thing you can do to enhance your emails, bring your business name to the fore, and make it more memorable.

Add a signature file

This is the bit of text that appears under your main message on every email. It can contain whatever you want it to say, and it’s easy to add.

You could add the name of your business, your address, a line about what you offer – anything.

It makes it easy for everyone to recognise your email and name, and you can add extra information to make your business more memorable!
